The biceps brachii (from the Latin, two heads in the arm) crosses three joints (shoulder, elbow and radioulnar) and had three actions - shoulder flexion (as in extending your arm out in front if you), elbow flexion (like doing a bicep curl), and supination (putting your palm up).
