Using my Emmert Universal Vise to work on this tapered marking knife is a perfect example of why you need one!! I designed this marking knife with a slight taper which makes grabbing it in a vise very difficult without a jig or shims. The Emmett vise’s adjustability makes getting that comfortable work angle so easy.
