2017年6月29日 · Ah, your owned TiVo Roamio isn't an All-In/Lifetime unit, so you wouldn't be avoiding the monthly cost. Got it; that does alter the math. Between the TiVo service subscription and whatever Suddenlink might charge for a CableCARD, yeah, it might be cheaper to stick with Suddenlink's DVR. (Well, except for the steep monthly cost per Mini.)

2024年1月16日 · I see the death of the DVR for cable, but I like to think there is a market for DVR use for OTA. With all the free content available I cord cut by not having cable, limiting streaming services, and record as much as possible from OTA channels. With Tablo and Zapperbox entering the DVR market, I think TIVO could at least continue on with that.

Using a Tivo supported (see their website for the list) digital to analog converter box will allow you to record digital OTA.

Multi-room DVR with client boxes (like TiVo Minis) will come out in about 3 months. If you have a 4K TV you want ZapperBox because it upscales HD and 1080p broadcasts to 4K. The difference is noticeable.

Channels DVR will support every non-DRM channel if you choose to use it the same as a TiVo as well, with a cablecard. At least Channels offers BOTH solutions. Can't say the same for TiVo! I'm thinking maybe you need to do more research on exactly what Channels DVR is.

It is still a long road to match TiVo functionality but we have a dedicated and motivated small team. TiVo integrated our ATSC 3.0 tech with the TiVo Edge in a demo back in 2019 before they gave up on ATSC 3.0.
