Place the tinned end of the wire in the slot and stake it in place. Use a soldering iron or gun to bring the click to soldering temperature and solder with rosin core radio solder. Wash the flux away with alcohol.

I clean the area of the small part in the area to be joined, then with the tip of a soldering iron carefully "tin" the area by applying a little bit of flux and then moving a tiny bit of solder on the area. Then do the same with the larger piece.

2013年3月24日 · Good work can be done with a large soldering iron, or a torch with a quiet 'brushy' flame. The flame is 'played' quickly in and out to raise the temperature. An iron is held in place against the bezel, as the temperature rises. A lot of soldering problems are due to folks thinking that electronic rosin core solder will work. IMOE, it doesn't.

Soldering to the coil leads was difficult for me perhaps because my soldering iron is cheap and does not as hot as needed for the lead metal wire, even when scraped clean and flux applied.
