2022年11月1日 · Astro van is the only option of you want affordable. Personally, I’d you want something with that size and capability, I’d go for just a ford or GMC full size van, like a Chevy express. Yes it’s RWD, but with good tires that are aired down, it’ll probably out wheel an AWD Astro van because the clearances are way higher.

2023年8月15日 · Well if you want a brand new van with 4wd there's not many options. The Hyundai Staria is probably it. It is AWD by default but does have a 4X4 lock button so you can lock the center diff for true 50/50 4X4. I also know the diesel engine is the Hilux's smaller cousin so should be very dependable.

A RWD van with a small lift, really good tires and a limited-slip diff will get you into 90% of the places you want to go. If you really want some extra ability, get a locking diff put in; they are MAGIC and will get you through all but the most extreme conditions.

2023年1月3日 · No full size hybrid awd / 4x4 vans in the u.s. I wanted true 4x4 and decent mileage so I found a gmc savana ( same as Chevy express) with the 2.8 duramax diesel and converted it to 4x4. It gets 21ish mpg with 33 inch tires and 3 inch lift. would probably get couple more with smaller tires and no lift.

Only the torsion keys, which can give you about 2" of lift, are universal between 4x4 pickup and AWD Express/Savana van suspensions. A full lift kit designed for a 4x4 truck won't fit a van. The rest of the van front suspension is just different enough that they require application specific parts and there is far less choice.

I have a RWD van and 4x4 envy. It's not so much that I think I'll use the 4x4 that much, it's more the places I'll choose not to go because of it. I definitely don't like that. But my truck was my go-to for camping before this and I like knowing I have the 4x4, but have only faced a handful of situations where I wasn't getting out without it.
