Limnichidae - Wikipedia
Limnichidae, commonly called minute marsh-loving beetles, is a family of beetles belonging to Byrrhoidea. There are at least 30 genera and 350 described species in Limnichidae. [1] [2] [3] [4] They are found worldwide, with the greatest diversity in tropical regions.
The Limnichidae Erichson (1847) and Lutro- chidae Kasap and Crowson (1975) are small semi- aquatic beetles; adults of both families most fre- quently live in riparian habitats. Both families were previously assigned to the superfamily Dry- opoidea (Crowson, 1978); however, they are now placed in the Byrrhoidea (Lawrence and Newton, 1995).
