He said Honda has perfected that engine over such a long period of time it is super reliable and he sees no more problems with the 1.5 vs the 2.0, despite the 1.5 being a turbo.

2022年9月5日 · If you are concern about the carbon build up and reliability issue. Go for Toyota D4S engine, it’s obviously feel gutless but it has port injection and no Turbo. No carbon deposit issue on intake valves and all the gasket seal will have longer lifespan since N.A engine has lower operating temperature.

Honda said it would be fixed for 2019. Here is how they “fixed” it: My car has 1900 miles on it, mostly short trips in warm weather. The oil life monitor is at 40%.

I have a 2017 civic with the 1.5 sitting at 170k and my head gasket is on its way out. I have to fill coolant every week and also needs a new engine harness as apparently the turbo melted the wiring to the boost solenoid. I’ve tried several times to rewire and the problem only disappears for about a month then recirculates.

2023年8月21日 · That doesn't make any sense. The 1.5t will always blow away the N/A motor in elevation. Turbo's can make up for lost power due to elevation. We drove gf previous vehicle (2019 crv awd 1.5t) thru Colorado on the way back from AZ. It was loaded with luggage, 3 mtb's and 3 people and it did pretty good. You "small engine & turbo" haters are clueless.

2021年10月1日 · The whole point for a 1.5Turbo Earth dreams was to cope with ever stringent emissions standards, increasing fuel efficiency ratings, while also being somewhat fast with a turbo engine. However, yes there is still 'spool lag' and there is a distinct power band for when it kicks in, but that can always be tuned if you wish etc...
