I have prepared an hexagon puzzle for my granddaughters which I cannot solve myself… Each hexagon is divided in three equal parts that bear different colors, out of a choice of 6 colors. I have printed hexagons with all the possible variations (including mirroring ones, for example blue-yellow-red vs blue-red-yellow).

Looking up hex grid pathfinding can give you some useful info for handling hex grids, then slam that together with match-3 matching etc logic.
