A scrap of aluminum or tin flashing. Cut, hammered over, drill holes, screw into deck with sheet metal screws. Put hay in mowed area, slowly lower mower on it.

2019年11月9日 · Electric 'cause it's clean; no petroleum products. If it ain't new, clean it up good before using it to process feed. Find a large box; one like a 'fridge or electric range comes in, toss a few flakes in, and then work it over with the mower until suitably shredded. Store the results in large plastic trash bags.

Straight alfalfa cubes will have more of the alfalfa qualities- higher protein, higher energy, higher calcium, etc. Timothy, being a grass hay, will decrease those qualities more towards grass hay, with the ratio of alfalfa:grass determining how much it changes.

2019年11月16日 · I’ve found Greenmeadow chopped forage to be the best quality and if you damp it before feeding (as you should with any chopped forage) your horse might be able to cope with it. It’s preferable to hay cubes. You can soak grass and alfalfa pellets, they take a much shorter time to absorb the water than cubes.

I have been using chopped hay for a few months, specifically Triple Crown grass forage, and wanted to make this comment that for a horse whose teeth are to bad to eat regular hay, this chopped stuff is just great. May not work for all horses, but it's really working for me.

2011年11月3日 · All hay is fed on the ground. If they are stressed, they recieve IV dexamethasone injections - on a sliding down scale. It is NOT a good idea to give a large dose of Dex and then nothing. We have a hay chopper so we can chop and wet the hay easier. One of the horses does compete in an indoor arena and does fine.

2016年1月28日 · This is what I have learned and please be aware: foxtail is fine in hay IF it has not bloomed/seeded yet. After it has bloomed (has tiny fibers at the end of the stalk), it becomes a problem for horses if ingested. The tiny fibers at the tip of the stalk are like shards of fiberglass and cut into the gums and in between the teeth of horses.

2024年11月4日 · I weigh hay nets and feed 23# a day. 11 1/2# at 5AM before work. 5# when I get home at 4PM. 7.5 # at 7:30PM before I settle down for bed (it’s a walk to the barn so not easy to just toss right before bed) The spacing is odd because of my job. I’ve read they don’t need as much hay overnight because they do indeed sleep.
