2019年11月5日 · I do have a 1912 Conn trumpet (yes, a trumpet, not a cornet) with a .484 bore. A cornet mouthpiece doesn't fit the horn but I have a flugelhorn mouthpiece that does fit and with that mouthpiece the horn gets a mellow sound in the direction of a flugelhorn although it's still clearly a trumpet based sound.

2024年7月14日 · In the 1990’s I bought a Bobby Shew 6310 flugelhorn. Really nice horn. I’ve always wanted a 4 valve flugelhorn and an Adams F4 came up on Facebook marketplace and I bought it. Really nice horn, but it’s a tank. I think of it as a soprano euphonium rather than a flugelhorn. M y 6310 feels like it’s made out of paper compared to the Adams F4.

I was eager to try it and compare it to my Condor flugelhorn (the horn itself is actually unbranded, but the case says Condor). The ACB is noticeably warmer at first try. But my flugel at less than half the price of the doubler's horn felicitously plays just as well.

2020年10月27日 · The biggest difference between the Sonic flugelhorn and the F1 is the bell and valve block. The Sonic flugelhorn has a 1-piece valve block, where the F1 has a 2 piece valve block – it’s a different project and it makes the Sonic the cheaper option. Also, the Sonic bell is made out of 1 piece, where the F1 has a 2 piece bell.

2017年5月12日 · You probably don't have triggers on your Bach Strad/Yamaha Xeno or whatever your trumpet is. The trigger on most flugels due to the slides being vertical, you can't just put a ring on it. Besides, as was mentioned above, there's a decent chance on a flugel, you won't even need anything. 2007年9月21日 · Dan is an awesome sounding flugelhorn player. The sound is what I like most about the 1525, and I think it sounds the least like a trumpet of these three flugelhorns. I think that a flugelhorn should be thought of as more of a french horn than a trumpet, and that is and always has been my approach to the flugelhorn.
