2015年1月18日 · The time period of that hat was definitely mid-century (1950-ish). The fedoras of the day were slightly lower crowns than in the 1940s. My steel VS, intended in the style of that era, has been called Clark Kent's hat too many times by people of my vintage to be a mistake. Art fawcett hit the nail on the head, apparently.

2015年1月18日 · Christopher Reeves was the last Superman to wear a hat at all, iirc. In 1978, it marked him out as looking just a little bit outdated, like he was a fuddy duddy who dressed a generation out. I think that worked for the kinda geeky take on Kent that he had. Certainly worked from the pov of Kent being the disguise rather than Superman.

2005年7月28日 · A hat's color shouldn't be the focal point with a suit, colorwise anyway. The fact that it's on your head will be a bold enough statement. I think black is loud, so would opt for shades of grey or brown in a hat. And to me, suits are blue, grey or brown. I'm not wild about brown hat with grey suit, but it's not a mis-match.
