As for the "tail bump" from the soft clutch damper, I haven't noticed it being a problem on my truck. But I have bypassed my main TCC lockup solenoid to full manual control temporarilly, to see how it reacts to full lockup at lower vehicle speeds.

The converter clutch valve controls the TCC application and release. The solenoid attaches to the control valve body within the transmission. The solenoid receives ignition voltage through circuit 1020.

Dec 18, 2007 · The PWM eliminator valve will eliminate the torque converter clutch from going on-off (pulsing), and change it to a regular 1993-94 style of on or off switch, no more pulsing. This means the torque converter clutch will last a lot longer. Before either of these installs, the transmission itself must be in good shape.

Jun 4, 2020 · In low gear it will pull but the increased stress of the ratio increase after up shifting will overcome the damaged clutch's holding power. Pulling it to a manual range applies the over run clutch that augments the input sprag and fwd clutch. Then it will drive even though the fwd clutch isn't capable of holding properly on its own.

Mar 14, 2010 · if it helps.. i have a 99 s10 4.3l Zr2 with 179k (now ONLY on the body lol) but i blew out the torque converter = (TC), and foward clutches and it had all 179k on both the trans and TC. and engine. I took out both engine and trans (seperately) and rebuilt BOTH !! Reman'd TC, and Full rebuild kit for the 4L60E transmission from Ebay.

Jan 2, 2021 · None of the '93 -'97 4L60E's are directly interchangeable, except '93 and '94 and '96 and '97 98-04 S10 and Astro are interchangeable. No 4l60e from a 99 up fullsize will work in an S-series regardless of what engine it had, including the 4.3. Different torque converter, input shafts and bellhousing. Nov 24, 2023 · The clutch and band application is as such. OD-1st the Forward clutch applied, Input sprag & Low roller are holding. OD 2nd Forward clutch, 2-4 Band are applied & Input sprag holding. Low roller overruns. OD 3rd Forward clutch, 3-4 Clutch applied & input sprag is holding. Low roller overruns. OD 4th Forward clutch & 2-4 band is applied.
