2010年2月2日 · When I park my truck it has begun to idle up to 1500 - 2000 rpm's. Normally it idles around 500. It sounds like the engine is gona race off. What is causing this. I had Autozone use their scanner, but the technician told me that no code was showing because my check engine light was not illuminated.

Its idles around 1300-1700... PO171 and PO174. Massive vacuum leak. Check the PCV hoses from end to end. Check the IAC valve, it's probably sludged up. Check the intake manifold gaskets and isolator bolts. As brokenleg mentioned, they were particularly problematic on the 4.2L engines of that era.

2024年3月23日 · But your MAF sensor reading seems high. 1.47 lbs/min = 11.1 grams/second. As I understand things, generally, at idle, g/s should be close to displacement in liters. One of those odd things people use to see if the reading is right. You should be seeing around 5 - 6 g/s.

2014年12月24日 · Sometimes I get a revving idle up and down from 1500 to 2500 rpm, and sometimes it just sits at 2000 to 3000 rpm. I took codes and have them below. It seems I have some of the classic vacuum leak signs, but I can't hear any vacuum leaks. Also, would not expect the clutch to change vacuum leak concern. I have changed plugs and wires.

2007年11月21日 · Know this post is about an old topic but I recently had this problem with my 2000 F150 at 80K miles with Triton V8 engine (5.4L). Idle ran up and down by 200 RPM from about 700 RPM to 500 RPM in about 4 second cycles. Replaced the IAC which was bad because it was carboned up and would not allow valve movement even with 12V applied to it's solenoid.

It will sit at around 2500 RPMS the engine will, they have replaced the IAC 2 tmes, and the MAF is good, throttle cable looks good, but sometimes the truck will be in 2nd gear and just accelerate with no foot on the gas.

I have a 2000 Ford F-150 4.2 ltr v6 2wd. It was throwing codes p0171 and p0174. I changed the upstream o2 sensors and the MAF. Took it back to Autozone to check the codes one more time and they said it was an IAC valve (idle air control) code so I replaced that.
