Most lkely these were the ones tasked to build the ridiculus Funeral Ark for Rodimus Prime. Afterwards, Autobots like Grapple and Hoist most likely went back to rebuilding Autobot City.

But in the Sunbow cartoon, he was not. He wasn't shown at that scale or used in the way microcassette players were used in 1984. Like x 1.
