2017年5月15日 · The extra 1.5" extension out from the wall that the 2 x 6 provides --is perfect. If done correctly, it works and looks good. ----In the present case (towel bar), I was thinking mounting one standard bar on three 2 x 4s (on edge) above one standard bar mounted on wall below. That would give me 4.5 inches between bars.

2022年4月10日 · As is the case with many things in my house, this isn’t the norm. I have a loose towel bar with no set screw and when I remove the bar, the posts don’t screw out or lift off. Any further force I use trying to remove them will tear them from the drywall. Any ideas appreciated.

The top of the vanity back-splash is 36" high and bottom of light fixture is 79" high. So I have a space about 43" in which to install the mirror.

2022年4月11日 · Your best bet is to buy either a 16" or a 32" long towel bar, locate the wall studs with a stud finder, and screw into the studs. The next best thing is a 24" towel bar where you can hit one stud, and the other end uses drywall inserts. Use these type of inserts (below) and use one high and one low.

2021年3月6日 · I’ve got a 10+ year old Kohler shower door which has a 24” towel bar on each side for handles. I noticed water was dripping though the glass so I bought replacement washers. One worked out fine but the side near the shower was stuck. The button/bolt head has a small hole where you stick an Allen key and they key bent after I got it loose.

I prefer to use a 2" toggle, especially where the drywall has been damaged a bit. The span of the toggle helps to distribute the load onto solid drywall around the now-enlarged and crushed original holes.
