Stateville Correctional Center (SCC) is a maximum security state prison for men in Crest Hill, Illinois, United States, near Chicago. [1][2] It is a part of the Illinois Department of Corrections. Opened in 1925, Stateville was built to accommodate 1,506 inmates.
