Hocus Pocus, Ernest Scared Stupid, The Witches, etc. I'm pretty sure that's what they were going for, with the PG-13 rating and the fact that it was based off a book that was intended for teens and pre-teens.

I have since repurchased the Short and Shivery books and I found the Treasury Collection of the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books with the original illustrations on sale at a local bookstore.
