Mar 16, 2005 · "Old trumpet players never die, they just blow away." The pea shooters were big in the 1920's and most of the major companies made them. In some of the early catalogs the small bore trumpets are listed as "jazz" trumpets or "suitable for hot dance".
Vintage Conn 58B Peashooter Trumpet .438 1930's raw brass
This vintage Conn 58B Trumpet is a .438 bore, like the original Conn 22B. "Peashooter" horns like the 58B were commonly used in early jazz, most notably in Duke Ellington's orchestra. Before studio post-production, players had to "hit" the microphone, and these were the horns of choice by those early pioneers of the recording industry.

Jun 25, 2014 · I was recently trying out different horns, both modern and vintage. After trying several models, I ended up settling on a 1930 Conn 58B. Someone was selling one on eBay at a great price, I took a chance on a peashooter and I love it. It's fun to play, and it seems to slot better for me above high C than most other horns I tried.

Geo M. Bundy Peashooter Trumpet 1930's Bb/A - Refurbished
I love old peashooters and this 1930's Geo. M. Bundy Elkhart horn plays very well. Appears to be a Pan American 65B Stencil. Bottom spring valves, reverse feed on the tuning slide into the 3rd valve body chamber and a Bb/A lock Rod. Valves feel excellent and have good compression, there is some staining on the valves from being stored for so long.

Dec 14, 2008 · One of the best Pro-Pea Shooter models would be the vintage King Liberty Trumpets. The over all best model make, would be the King Liberty #2 models with the diamond brace,and the nice deep etched engraving.
