The panther chameleon is a medium to large sized species with an adult length of 15-20” (40-52cm). Their color pattern is extremely variable and the main reason they’re one of the most popular chameleon species. The Ambilobe locale is most commonly available, with Nosy Be, Ambanja, Sambava and other locales also bred in captivity.

You can search it on the forums and try to compare with what others have said with your little one. The best way to find out is to post pictures of the he/she from the side, with the tail out straight.

I also own 2 other panther chameleons and they all share a 4 foot fluorescent light (full spectrum) and each have their own basking bulbs (100Watt ZooMed that also emits UVA). I have a dripper system that they regularly drink from and it drips 2-3 times a day for half hour.

If you compare the heads of a nosy be to an ambilobe, you'll notice that the nosy bes have more of a sloped casque, with a less pronounced rostral process. I personally like the look of the ambilobe. As for a blue panther, I prefer the blue ambanjas.

This seems to be a trait of these when they are young, and fades to more grey as they mature. This locale fires up solid white with red barring.
