About Us
The North American Gun Dog Association (NAGDA) is a non profit corporation of members who are dedicated to promoting bird hunting activities for its members and their dogs at host clubs. NAGDA carries out its mission by sponsoring hunting competitions for youth, amateur and advanced dog handlers.
Dog of the Year
Every Spring, NAGDA hosts its four-day National Competition. The handler must show good sportsmanship in and out of competition, including on Social Media platforms. The best score of the dog in the singles divisions for each day of the Nationals will be used.

Each season, youth from across the nation have the opportunity to compete at NAGDA events held at local host clubs. Youth must have successfully completed their states hunters safety course to compete.
Hall of Fame
In an effort to recognize the unique relationship between upland game hunters and their dogs, NAGDA has established the Gun Dog Hall of Fame. To qualify for a nomination, the dog and its owner or family must have participated for five years in the NAGDA National Finals events.
Legendary Achievement Award
Kim Woodrick was awarded the Legendary Achievement Award at the 2022 NAGDA Nationals Banquet by the Board of Directors for her selfless dedication to NAGDA since its inception in 2000.
