After spending several hours trying to figure out why I was unable to change the "Night Light" settings in Windows 10 (moving the slider made no change, and moving the toggle switch would crash the "Display Settings" GUI), I finally found a correct solution here after trying a few that had no effect or caused more problems.

In other words, after setting the scheduled time and i click away from the settings page, the night light settings resets and the slider for night light goes back to off in the settings.
