To enjoy all the park has to offer, camping in one of the park's 30 campsites is a must. Nestled among towering longleaf pines, this small campground offers spacious gravel sites with full hookup and can accommodate tents to 35-foot RVs.

Blackwater River State Park features several hundred feet of raised boardwalk trail accessible from the pavilion parking lot. This scenic and shady boardwalk connects two restroom facilities and two large picnic pavilions to a large white sandy beach on Blackwater River.

Most of the stream flows through undeveloped lands of the Blackwater State Forest and Blackwater River State Park, core areas of the largest contiguous longleaf pine/wiregrass ecosystem remaining in the world, described as being rarer than a tropical rainforest.

Hours & Fees - Florida State Parks
The park is open 8 a.m. until sundown and the ranger station is open 3 to 5 p.m., 365 days a year. Campers who plan to arrive after sunset should call the park between 3 and 5 p.m. Central time at 850-983-5363 for the gate combination and late check-in procedures.
