Other than all that, Baal is a very hard enemy. If you still can't take him after these tips, and your just getting frustrated, try and level up some more.

AoDAzrael 16 years ago #3. Around level 40-45 is fine for going into nightmare. Nightmare isn't really THAT much of a leap from Normal as long as you have decent resists and maxed block. You can get away with somewhat low resists and no block in Nightmare, but once you get to hell you'll really be punished for not having max block and resists.

force_edge 15 years ago #10. It can happen. Where Tyrael lands is dependant on where Baal dies, so yes, Baal can die in a spot that brings Tyrael down such that the portal is opened over the void. But yep, as already said, just saving and exiting will end the game for you.

Baal is more durable, but I wouldn't say stronger. Besides, the player is supposed to be stronger by that point, they can't make the boss weaker. and not mention that Diablo's skills isn't as powerful and flashier than Baal as well.... Diablo's skills are stronger than Baal's.
