In the 1970s, Nicholas R. Deleary of Chippewas of the Thames created a logo for what was then the Union of Ontario Indians. This logo features a black thunderbird in profile with an X-shaped body, in a circle [37]. The Union of Ontario Indians later became the Anishinabek Nation.
