Coast Guard Markings With the exception of authorized Coast Guard unit ball caps, Auxiliarists should avoid wearing uniform items that carry Coast Guard markings, particularly Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), work clothes, and organizational clothing.
The Operational Dress Uniform (ODU) is the normal work uniform of the United States Coast Guard, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps, and the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (PHSCC).
Auxiliarist wear one, two, or three ribbons in a single row. They are worn in order of precedence, high to low, from inboard to outboard. When wearing more than one row, the precedence is across rows, from top down.
Operational Dress Uniform (ODU) The ODU may be worn in any situation where any form of dress uniform is not required or more appropriate and while commuting, including brief stops for gas and drive-through business.
