I have been successful in keeping the roots from freezing over winter by putting heavy sleeping bags on them. IMO, any celery plant can be harvested I start taking stalks when they are about 4 inches tall

2024年12月20日 · Celery doesn't seem to rehydrate well at all. The best use I can think of is to make it into a powder for use as a seasoning. Bell peppers - the skin always seems to be somewhat tough on rehydrating, although i made a dish recently where the peppers were just great. They can also be powdered to add flavor to a dish.

I guess my original strategy of storing/protecting cases from moisture in plastic trash bags isn't a very good long term solution (nor even a medium term solution). I thank you for your input. That's what makes this forum so valuable.

2013年2月20日 · Storing loose hay outside is most likely not going to work well. If you actually need 4 acres of hay, that's a lot of work and I'd try and pay someone to do it for you. I have a 4 acre field and it's just not a field I look forward to doing every year.
