Lloyd's Open Form (LOF)
LOF provides a regime for determining the amount of remuneration to be awarded to salvors for their services in saving property at sea and minimising or preventing damage to the environment. Originating from the late 1800s, it is probably the most widely used international salvage agreement of its kind in the world today.
This SCOPIC clause is supplementary to any Lloyd’s Form Salvage Agreement “No Cure - No Pay” (“Main Agreement”) which incorporates the provisions of Article 14 of the International Convention on Salvage 1989 (“Article 14”). The definitions in the Main Agreement are incorporated into this SCOPIC clause.

It was introduced in 1999 and is now a well-established means of remunerating salvors when there is insufficient value in salved property to ensure a conventional salvage award. LOF is a simple contract format containing only a few boxes to complete.
