President-elect Donald Trump has offered a new White House position to his longtime ally Richard Grenell as his presidential envoy for special missions.
Trump named Richard Grenell, former acting director of national intelligence, as an envoy for special missions and Edward S. Walsh as his pick to serve as ambassador to Ireland.
Grenell, 58, became the first openly gay man to serve in a cabinet-level position when Trump appointed him acting director of national intelligence in February 2020.
