James Webb Space Telescope, NASA
James Webb Space Telescope best images of 2024
The galaxy filling the frame in this NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope Picture of the Month is NGC 2566, a spiral galaxy located in the constellation Puppis. The image combines observations from two of Webb's instruments,
NASA’s new Webb telescope images support previously controversial findings about how planets form
NASA says it was able to use the James Webb telescope to capture images of planet-forming disks around ancient stars that challenge theoretical models of how planets can form. The images support earlier findings from the Hubble telescope that haven’t been able to be confirmed until now.
5 stunning images of space discoveries captured by NASA James Webb Space Telescope
However, NASA James Webb Space Telescope is one such powerful observatory which has been a part of several unique discoveries. Check out these 5 images of space. Webb’s NIRCam instrument captured the inner Orion Nebula and Trapezium Cluster which is spread across 4 light years.
James Webb Space Telescope Uncovers ‘Firefly Sparkle’
Mowla, who spotted the galaxy in Webb’s image, was drawn to its gleaming star clusters, because objects that sparkle typically indicate they are extremely clumpy and complicated. Since the galaxy looks like a ‘sparkle’ or swarm of fireflies on a warm summer night, they named it the Firefly Sparkle galaxy.
Top 5 galaxy images captured by NASA James Webb Space Telescope
This galaxy image was captured with the help of NASA’s MIRI instrument showcasing part of star formation in the outer galaxy. This image showcases a pair of galaxies IC 2163 and NGC 2207, showcasing massive star formation due to the interaction.
NASA James Webb Space Telescope reveals rocky planet formation in harsh environments
Scientists used the James Webb Space Telescope to study planet formation. They observed the star cluster NGC 346. They found long-lasting planet-forming disks. These disks exist even with few heavy elements.
James Webb Telescope confirms what Hubble revealed about the birth of planets
Nasa's James Webb Space Telescope has resolved a long-standing astronomical mystery by confirming findings from the Hubble Space Telescope regarding planet formation around ancient stars. This breakthrough sheds light on the conditions under which planets may have formed in the early universe.
