THE oldest operational racecourse in the world has announced ambitious plans for a futuristic revamp. Chester Race Company have put forward a 15-year proposal to upgrade the 485-year-old course.

Plans for a £100m revamp of Chester Racecourse have been approved. Cheshire West and Chester councillors had rejected the initial plans in March saying the project could harm views of the city.
