A rectangle has two pairs of equal sides. It has four right angles (90°). The opposite sides are parallel. The diagonals bisect each other. A parallelogram has two pairs of equal sides.
A quadrilateral is a four-sided shape. It could be a square, rectangle, kite, rhombus, parallelogram or trapezium. For any quadrilateral, the angles of the four corners add up to \(360^\circ\).
