Beautiful. Serene. Piney. Not a difficult walk. Lovely experience. Not far outside Aviemore. We visited late afternoon and felt refreshed and well exercised by the end of the walk. Z3126TGcolinb的完整评论
Is it easy to visit the area with a 2 year old kid on baby stroller? What is more convenient way to get there from city?

The pathways are passable and there are no muddy areas, at least there hasn’t been any time we’ve been there. Train to Aviemore then perhaps a taxi to the loch. It’s only a few minutes by car so shouldn’t be too expensive. Hope you enjoy our beautiful country.
We are planning on visiting in September but don’t drive so will be taking the bus will this work.

Hi - thanks for asking it's easy. Loch an Eilein is about a hour's walk from Aviemore Railway - mostly on a footpath or off road. Use the passenger bridge to cross the railway line, turn right across to the to the car park and fork right along the road until you see the old bridge across the Spey on your left - opposite the Old Bridge Inn. Across the bridge, follow the footpath past Rothiemurchus Fishery until you reach Rothiemurchus Centre ( open daily 9.30 - 5.30). There you can get directions or pick up a map of walks (£1.50) which show you three very enjoyable different mainly off road routes to Loch an Eilein. Or you can get a bus from Aviemore Railway station to Rothiemurchus Centre and walk from there. It's a lovely, mainly off road walk and when you get to Loch an Eilein it'll take you about an hour to walk round. The Druie cafe is at Rothiemurchus Centre or you can get hot and cold drinks, ice creams and snacks at Loch an Eilein Centre. Hope you enjoy Loch an Eilein - it was stunning today.
