Tracy! We run kiteboarding lessons out of hawks cay resort and our wakeboard park is located one mile south. The resort is great and boasts lots of amenities. If you are looking for a smaller hotel with a more local experience there are a number of great locally owned and operated hotels on Grassy Key that provide a smaller more intimate atmosphere such as the Gulf View. Our wakeboard park uses 2 cable systems instead of boats which provide a much more user / beginner friendly atmosphere. If you are already a wakeboarder or progress quickly we have terrain park style advanced cable with ramps and rails to keep things interesting! The keys are definitely one of the best places in Florida to wakeboard and kiteboard all in the same day!

Jenn! We have an awesome "Lagoon" that is actually a fully tidal manmade quarry. We have no open water access for fish to swim in and out so water is flowing in and out from the ocean through the porous limestone that makes up our islands. The lagoon has a wonderful and healthy Eco system of tropical fish crustaceans and mangroves. Because of the salinity of the water in the keys we do not have gators and crocodiles stay in areas with closer proximity to open water as the tend to migrate. We swim in the lake every day and strive to provide a safe fun and worry free atmosphere. There are no sharks or gators in our lagoon.
