What everyone said. It's small, but some of these state parks are the best. Spotlessly clean. They seem to have a decent maintenance budget. The asphalt trails and roads and amenities are taken care … Robin E的完整评论

Beautiful park just outside of Weston. Can visit the Tobacco barns that remain standing that were used during the 1900s or hike the trails, being right next to the Missouri River jeffbeckinc的完整评论

I agree with Lynn. To have your needs met upon arriving it is good to know when the Park Office is open and what can be made available upon your arrival. The Park Office is definitely the best source for your needs to be answered in all capacities. It's a wonderful journey to enjoy, have fun and meet people from all over who have visited the park for the first time and those visiting many times. ( (816) 640-5443 Park Office)
Is it safe for someone to walk the trails alone? Aka: how secluded is it, and are there usually a decent amount of people around on the trails?

When hiking any trails anywhere, the Park Office will know which trails are best for you. As far as hiking in the woods, all precautions should be taken to make sure you and your family or friends are protected from the top of your head to your feet. Parks are part of nature's natural environments and caters to their own guest so to find out what you may encounter just get the info from the Park Office. Most of your helpful hints for clothing etc. is on your internet or from your own experience but when it comes to the many critters, the park has then the Office is the first to ask (816) 640-5443) since they have handouts too. As a female, if I had my dog with me than I will journey down the trails but as far as alone, I would not for the simple fact that if I slip on a rock or turn my ankle etc. than I will need immediate help so all concerns should be considered; as an old cliche' goes: Best to travel in 2 or more for safety concerns. I still travel the park but stay closer to the road since my hubby passed and remember all the great times and meet some wonderful people. Don't forget to go to the Lookout Point at the park which allows you to view for miles and they do have seats for you to stretch your legs and sit a spell. Have FUN and Really Enjoy Yourself!!!
