Hi, we are heading to Ghana in September and would like to make a trip out to see the Monkeys from Hohoe. Is it easy to get transport back to Hohoe, i.e. Tro-tros available at the sanctuary? And what is the admission fee at the Sanctuary, does it include the guide? Thanks. We are so looking forward to going over

There are at least motorcycles out of the village to the main road. There are trotros sometimes. It is only a one hour walk (5k). Once you are back on the main road it is very easy to get back to Hohoe. Price includes guide. I can't remember the price but it is reasonable. You may want to bring some bananas with you to be sure that you have some. My recommendation is to spend the night. It's a much better monkey experience and it's a great village experience.

In Ghana that's a really tricky question... If you're travelling by trotro you have to wait until one is leaving (which could be hours), then you usually go to ho or hohoe (Volta region) and take another trotro from there... so it could take a whole day. Plus there's some problem with the bridge/ferries so there's a huge delay (even if you take a private vehicle). Google maps says just under 200 km (or 2.5-3 hours) but I definitely wouldn't count on that!
