Getting started: - Park in the free CP at Cowdray Park, Easebourne, near the Cowdray farm Shop and Cafe, and walk to the Queen Elizabeth Oak near Stewards Pond. Its …

Getting started: - Park in the free CP at Cowdray Park, Easebourne, near the Cowdray farm Shop and Cafe, and walk to the Queen Elizabeth Oak near Stewards Pond. Its about 1000 years old. Including return about 3 miles and its over the Midhurst Way. Google the route. Park in the free CP at Woolbeding NT where the lane leaves the A272. It takes 10 cars only and there is no sign outside. Walk Woolbeding Parkland - its all open - and do the circular route via Midhurst. Easy to follow. Could do it easily from the Swan, about 2 miles.

Midhurst is a dog friendly town with most shops and cafes happy to see well-behaved dogs on a lead. Not all b&b's take dogs - you'll need to check. There are several good off-lead walkies for dogs. Start in near-by Easebourne A276 free CP adjoining the Cowdray Farm Shop and Cafe and walk down the estate road - now called the Midhurst Way - to Cowdray Castle, thence over the River Rother and up the Causeway to North Street. Or, continue from Cowdray Castle along the river bank to the old town and Midhurst Square. For more walks look up Cowdray Park Walks in Google. Paid parking in North St CP and at the Grange.

Base yourself in Midhurst. B&B or several good hotels. Walk to Easebourne via Cowdray Castle along the River Rother from St Ann's Hill. Or, walk from A272 CP at Woolbeding turning to Whiphill Wood and Woolbeding Parkland. Or park at A272 CP at Benbow Pond on the Cowdray estate, visit the 1000 year old QE Oak, & complete 35 minute circular walk.#R# There are several good attractions locally including the Weald and Downland Museum at Singleton.#R# Motoring over to Arundel to the castle and back shows amazing panoramas of the downs and River Ouse. Same again visiting the Mardens.#R# For a luxury pub lunch visit the Duke of Cumberland in Henley, just north of Midhurst. Panoramic views, acres of gardens, local walks. Look up Midhurst River Walk and Cowdray Walks for more walking info and pictures.
