I would pose the question of school age children to the Hungry Bird bookers. They may have good tours for different age groups. We booked the three hour tour and loved it. I personally would not like a five hour tour. The tour was fantastic. Just the right amount of walking and all food we sampled was very good and the tour very entertaining. We actually went back the next day and tried more of what we liked.

Yes - first stop was a Surinamese deli/supermarket and we had a brodje there....quite spicy and really delicious! We enjoyed it so much we went back there a coupe of days later and had another one. We were on a Saturday tour as well.
Has anyone done the evening tour? Would you recommend it? Also is this a good tour for a solo traveler? Thanks!

Awesome for a solo traveler! I was alone and it was a great way to spend a day being entertained and getting to know people (if you want to of course).
